Is hard to learn.
No, you have no idea, it's HARD to learn. I got this japanese coach game thingy for the DS, it teaches you Japanese, and I write down all the words in my handy dandy notebook (I made a game, I'm gonna make a childrens show reference in every topic I make.), and then I study it. it's complicated. Seriously, this is really hard to learn. Not just the symbols, THOSE are even HARDER to learn. but the pronounced words are hard to learn too, even when spelled with the American alphabet. Gah.
As of now, I have these subjects written down:
Basic words
Pronunciation
numbers
colors
days of the week

So, yeah.
Words are pronounced WAY differently in japan.
Like the word Karaoke. THAT is way different than how we say it here in America. here, we say "care-ee-oh-key"
in japan, it's "car-aye-oh-keh".
Yeah.
But still, I have fun learning it.

There is a Japanese family that goes to my church. They're missionaries in Japan, and they speak English with a thick accent and don't know all the English words, so sometimes they just substitute in Japanese words. It's fun to listen to!
